MIAA makes its official, names Robert Baldwin as its new executive director

As first reported by the Boston Herald last month, the MIAA and MSAA has named Robert Baldwin as the next Executive Director of both associations. Baldwin will succeed Bill Gaine, who is retiring after serving in the role of Executive Director for the past eight years. Baldwin will be the fourth person to hold the position of Executive Director, and he is the first school superintendent to serve in that capacity.

“I am both honored and humbled to have been selected as the Executive Director of the MIAA and MSAA,” Baldwin said in a release. “I am enthusiastic to begin this position as it complements my personal story and professional career of Educational Athletics and leadership.”

Baldwin served as the Superintendent of the Fairhaven Public Schools for the past 16 years. Named the Massachusetts Superintendent of the Year for 2021 by the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), Dr. Baldwin recently served as President of the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents (M.A.S.S.) and was recognized at their 2021 annual conference as the recipient of the prestigious Christos Daoulas Award.with a foundation that prepares them for success in life. I am very excited to begin this responsibility and will work very hard on your behalf.”
