EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders' Maisie Smith has opened up on her character Tiffany Butcher-Baker's reaction to her husband Keegan's affair.
In an upcoming episode, Vinny (Shiv Jalota) tells Tiffany that Keegan (Zack Morris) has cheated on her with Dotty (Milly Zero).
"I think immediately she goes to laugh when Vinny tells her, because it was just the most unbelievable thing that someone could have told her that one of her close friends, her half-cousin no less, has just slept with her husband and that they all live in the same house!" Smith said.
"She thought it must be a joke because it was absolutely incomprehensible," she added.

Once Keegan admits to having cheated on her, Tiffany is overcome with anger.
"[When] he said it was true a sudden rage overtook her and she slapped him round the face, which is not like Tiffany," Smith said.
"She's not like a Bianca in that sense, she's not as confrontational so I think it must have been quite a shock for her to actually slap someone around the face. I don't think anyone would expect it."

The actress also confessed she was "shocked" when she first found out that EastEnders was going in that direction.
"I've spoken about it with Milly and Zack, they were like, 'Oh no we're going to get so much hate'. Especially since the audience get to see the story from Tiffany's perspective as well," Smith said.
"Keegan is acting out of anger but he's unaware of what Tiffany's actually going through. Whereas the audience is completely aware of the pain that she's had to suffer for the past few weeks."

Will Tiffany ever be able to forgive Keegan?
"I don't know, it's such a massive thing to forgive but maybe in time she could but it will be so hard to forget what's happened," she said.
As for Dotty, Smith assured "that's a different story".
"I don't think she loves Dotty enough to forgive her for betraying her, so I think that'll be a harder relationship to rekindle."
EastEnders airs these scenes on Monday, August 23 at 8.05pm, Tuesday, August 24 at 7.30pm and Thursday, August 26 at 7.40pm on BBC One.
