Update: 1 dead, 1 injured after rollover crash in Scotts Bluff County

On Aug. 18 at 4:24 a.m. Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Deputies and other emergency personnel responded to a rollover crash near County Road U and County Road 36. 

"Investigation revealed that the driver was west bound on County Road U when he lost control and entered the south ditch," Scotts Bluff County Sheriff Mark Overman said. "The vehicle went sideways then rolled side to side 1.5 times. During the roll the driver was ejected."

32-year-old Estevan A. Teniente died from injuries in the accident. Teniente was the driver of the vehicle.

A 27-year-old male passenger sustained injuries as well. 

Valley Ambulance transported the passenger to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff with minor injuries.

Both are Scotts Bluff County residents. 

"Neither of the occupants were wearing seatbelts," Overman said. "Alcohol is being investigated as a factor in the accident."

The Minatare/Melbeta Fire Department responded with personnel and equipment. Air Link also assisted with this accident. 

The passengers name has not been released.
