Authors Anne Lamott and Neal Allen to appear at Lewes library Aug. 23

August 18, 2021

The Lewes Public Library and Browseabout Books will welcome authors and spouses Anne Lamott and Neal Allen for a discussion and book signing at 5 p.m., Monday, Aug. 23.

The event will be offered in a hybrid format, available both in person at the library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes, and online via Zoom. All spaces are filled for in-person attendance.

Lamott is a New York Times bestselling author of 19 books, including novels, essays and long-form nonfiction. Allen is a coach and writer who studies and practices traditional and contemporary spiritual paths, blending standard psychodynamics with spirituality methods in his private coaching practice. Together, the couple will lead a discussion about writing, spiritual matters, relationships, and their new book releases.

Lamott’s latest book, “Dusk Night Dawn,” is an inspiring guide to restoring hope and joy in one’s life, focusing on recapturing confidence through dark times that seem increasingly bleak. Allen’s “Shapes of Truth” unveils the remarkable discovery that 35 divine objects that represent aspects of God reside in each body, and provides step-by-step instructions for encountering them.

Following the discussion, the authors will participate in a book signing for in-person participants, and the books may be purchased onsite.

Registration is required through the Lewes Public Library’s website. To sign up, go to lewes.lib.de.us and visit the Virtual Programs for Adults page.

Participants also are encouraged to support the author by purchasing a copy of the book from local independent bookstore Browseabout Books. Orders may be placed online at browseaboutbooks.com, by calling the store at 302-226-2665, or in person at 133 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach.
