With a rise in violence in Detroit, the city shut down a popular bar after it was the crime scene of a murder investigation.

Early Monday morning (August 16), four people were shot outside Red's Park Inn Bar in Southwest Detroit. Of those four, three were injured and a 23-year-old male was killed, FOX 2 reported.

Due to the reoccurring violence at multiple businesses in the Detroit area, the city is shutting down those businesses as part of a strategy to keep streets safer.

According to WXYZ, during a news conference on Tuesday, Interim Detroit Police Department chief James White said a fight turned deadly, leaving one dead and three others injured. "As a result of this senseless act of violence, a 23-year-old male is deceased," said White.

The interim chief announced during the news conference that the city would shut down the business. He said in the past five years, 42 calls to police were made at this location. However, the closing of this bar will not be the last. White says he plans to hold all other businesses accountable for multiple violations.

As of now, police are still searching for two suspects and an SUV involved in the shooting.
