Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver signs legislation restoring Urban Enterprise Zone

Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver signed legislation today at Seafrigo USA inc in Elizabith helping restore and revise the Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ) program, which included an appropriation of $42.5 million.

The signing was in participation with NJ leaders, NJEDA Ceo Tim Sullivan, Gary Schaer and state Senators. The legislation extends and reform the Urban Enterprise Zones program helping stimulate economic development in New Jersey’s urban centers. The Program offers participating businesses tax benefits and exemptions to spur economic development in 37 municipalities across the state.

Duvi Honig, Founder and CEO of the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce, who advocates for Economic Development and was part of the signing ceremony said, “It is an honor and privilege to be part of this signing event, which is focused on job creation, business development, and economic investment throughout New Jersey.”

Other chambers in attendance included NJ Chamber of Commerce, African American Chamber of Commerce and the NJ Spanish chamber of Commerce.
