Edina native Jenny Taft called out Skip Bayless on FS1's "Undisputed" Wednesday after Bayless body-shamed Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy.

“I don’t know if Mike McCarthy’s motivational speech was the most inspiring, but criticizing his appearance — I don’t know if that’s a fair shot for Mike McCarthy, I’m going to leave it at that,” Taft said.

Her comment was a response to Bayless, who more than two minutes prior said his "personal preference" would be not having someone as "heavy" as McCarthy as his coach.

"He's a little heavy and I wouldn't want my head coach in the NFL to not look the part at all, because you gotta stay in some semblance of condition to show that you know who you are, have some confidence in yourself. It's just unimpressive across the board," said Bayless, who got defensive when Taft called him out.

Bayless: "Thanks, Jenny, appreciate that."

Taft: “I don’t think it is a fair shot.”

Bayless: “Well, I don’t think that’s a fair shot.”

Taft: “Is everyone who’s ever coached as fit as you, Skip? I don’t think that’s a fair shot whatsoever. I’ve actually had plenty of coaches that have not had the perfect, ideal physique, including my college coach, so I don’t think that’s a fair shot."

Taft then reminded Bayless that she's "allowed to have an opinion" and "say whatever I want to say on this show," to which Bayless responded with a haughty "no."

Conveniently, the FS1's YouTube channel didn't include any of the heated back-and-forth between Taft and Bayless, instead ending the video after Taft said she didn't think it was a "fair shot."

Taft is an Edina High School graduate who went on to play lacrosse at Boston University, where she got her broadcasting credentials.

Her TV career began as a "Fox Sports Girl" with Fox Sports North in 2011. She was hired at FS1 in 2013 and took over as moderator for "Undisputed" in 2018.
