Impeachment: American Crime Story: Monica Lewinsky Has a Gift for the President in First Footage of FX Drama
The first footage from Impeachment: American Crime Story makes the Monica Lewinsky/Bill Clinton affair feel as creepy-crawly as a season of American Horror Story… but maybe that’s the point.
FX released a new teaser for the hotly anticipated season, premiering Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 10/9c, and it’s more of a mood-setter, with the camera following Lewinsky (played by Booksmart‘s Beanie Feldstein) as she boxes up a tie for President Clinton and hides it in a file folder before making her way to the Oval Office. As an ominous score plays in the background, an on-screen graphic reminds us that “the President of the United States had a secret affair with a 22-year-old intern.”
“Mr. President? Miss Lewinsky’s here to see you,” we hear the President’s secretary say as Lewinsky stands in the doorway and Clinton slowly turns to the camera. We don’t see either of their faces, but we already know that Clive Owen plays Bill Clinton, with Edie Falco playing his wife Hillary Clinton.
Impeachment chronicles “the national crisis that swept up Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country’s first impeachment proceedings in over a century,” per the official logline. Sarah Paulson costars as Tripp, with Annaleigh Ashford as Jones and Billy Eichner as Drudge Report founder Matt Drudge.

were 5 weeks out and this is all we get…feels very strange….ive been looking forward to this, the last 2 seasons were very strong, but ryan murohys recent stuff has been disappointing to say the least…this could be great or a disaster.
She doesn’t look anything like Monica. Wrong build and wrong height. And of course she only got the part because of her brother and best friend, Ben Platt. Hard pass.
Beanie Feldstein is literally the same height as her. We haven’t seen the show yet and her previous talent speaks for itself. I’m excited!
I agree!. Monica had youthful prettiness and fantastic hair. Beanie just doesn’t have the same quality. Definite nepotism casting.
She got it because she’s a good actress.

We’re in 2021, its a global viewing world. Get with the times. And if a network geolocks this content, tell them you’re not going to promote it.
This story has been told to death. Beanie Feldstein looks nothing like Monica Lewinsky. Monica was way prettier.

i think my point is clear. I don’t like the casting.
She looks more like Monica than Sarah Paulson looks like Linda Tripp. Putting a svelte actress in a fat suit is insulting. And Bill Clinton wishes he looked like Clive Owen. Knowing Ryan Murphy we should all be glad he didn’t try to cast Lea Michelle or Emma Roberts as Monica. Honestly, this whole thing is a joke. Murphy is overrated.

Tell that to ITV. Many of their promos are unavailable in the US due to geo restrictions.
Not only is Beanie Feldstein horribly miscast, but I’ve lost all respect for Sarah Paulson. Not only does she not resemble Linda Tripp at all, but wearing a fat suit? You could have said no, Sarah. That’s what I’m gonna say when it comes time to watch this travesty of casting.
The fat suit thing is disgusting. No heavy character actresses in Hollywood? Anything to cast Murphy’s pet, though. This whole program is a bad joke. Murphy is overrated and overexposed
