Thanks to a special two-day Community Day event, trainers have a real chance to get their hands on a Sylveon.

Niantic Labs announced Eevee will be featured in the first-ever Pokemon GO two-day long Community Day. As part of the event, the requirements for acquiring a Sylveon have dropped considerably, allowing trainers to get their hands on this Kalos region Eevee-lution potentially for the first time.

Here's how to get the fairy-type, Sylveon, in Pokemon GO.

How to Get Sylveon in Pokemon GO

Trainers can get Sylveon in a few ways. It's worth noting, however, that all Eevee-lutions will cost 25 candies, regardless of the extra work needed for later forms.

Those who might not have the time or ability to travel the world with a Sylveon-to-be Eevee can use the nickname trick associated with this Pokemon. It will only work once per Eevee-lution, so make sure the Eevee selected is the right one.

To evolve Eevee into Sylveon using the nickname trick, simply name the chosen Eevee "Kira" and evolve it. The Pokemon should turn into a Sylveon with no extra work on the trainer's part. In the event this trick doesn't work—be it due to a glitch or prior use—the Eevee will turn into one of the three Kanto evolutions, instead.

Otherwise, they'll need to earn 70 hearts with their chosen Eevee as their buddy before evolving it into Sylveon. Niantic has lowered this to seven for the Community Day event, but this will probably be removed once it's over.

To date, Sylveon is among the strongest—if not the strongest—Eevee-lution available in Pokemon GO. It has the following stats:

  • Maximum CP: 3470
  • Maximum HP: 194
  • Attack: 203
  • Defense: 205
  • Stamina: 216

Its best moveset includes the quick move "Charm" and either the charged move "Dazzling Gleam" or "Moon Blast."

Also known as the "Intertwining" Pokemon, it is best known for its soothing and friendly nature. Sylveon will project a calming aura through its "ribbon-like feelers" to stop fights. Its PokeDex number is 700.
