FOREST HILLS, Pa. — After a terrible hit-and-run, some folks who live in Forest Hills told Channel 11 that the intersection where it happened is very dangerous.

Allegheny County Police are investigating a late-night hit-and-run in Forest Hills. It happened at around 10:40 p.m. at the intersection of Ardmore Boulevard and Yost Boulevard.

“The intersection at Yost and Ardmore Boulevard is very dangerous. The light is short on Yost, Boulevard and a lot of people try to run out there when it’s red,” explained Forest Hills resident Rich Checchio.

It’s unclear what exactly caused the collision, but we’re told a 19-year-old woman was seriously hurt and was rushed to the hospital.

“I’m actually surprised, I live right up the street and I didn’t even hear sirens last night from it,” Checchio said.

Our crew captured this video of the scene, showing both cars wrecked.

Investigators say the woman was driving on Ardmore in this black Buick sedan, but when she made a left turn on Yost, she was hit by this Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV going the opposite direction on Ardmore.

We’re told the driver of that trailblazer ran away, but police only have a vague description.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Allegheny County Police.

At last check – the victim of this hit-and-run is in critical condition.
