(DALLAS) The Dallas Morning News reported that Dallas Mavericks player Tim Hardaway Jr. agreed verbally to a contract for four years and $74 million.

As a free agent, Hardaway, 29, can’t officially sign the contract until 11 a.m. on Friday.

The Mavericks recruited Hardaway from New York in January 2019, and since then he has been the team’s third-leading scorer in both of his two seasons. In 2019-20, he averaged 15.8 points on 43.4% shooting, and in 2020-21, he averaged 16.6 points on 44.7% shooting.

Many times last season, Hardaway willingly came off the bench until he was permitted by coach Rick Carlisle to start games in the last month of the season.
