On Sunday morning, five people suffered injuries following a hit-and-run crash near the Westgate Hotel.
According to LVMPD, the incident took place at the intersection of Paradise Road and Karen Avenue at about 3:09 a.m. As per the initial reports, a red 2015 Crysler 300 was heading North on Paradise Road, and a silver 2021 Ford Fusion was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Karen Avenue.
Just then, the front of the Crysler crashed into the passenger side of the Ford at the intersection. The driver of the Crysler fled the scene right after the collision but was caught by the responding officers. He was later booked at the Clark County Detention Center for applicable DUI and hit and run charges after showing signs of impairment.
On arrival, emergency crews rushed five people to Sunrise Hospital. Reports revealed that two of the victims remain in critical condition. The identities of the victims have not been revealed at this time.
The incident remains under investigation.
