ABC’s Jonathan Karl to release second book on Trump

ABC News chief Washington correspondent Jonathan Karl plans to release this fall a second book on former President Trump, following last year’s “Front Row at the Trump Show.”

“Betrayal: The Final Act of the Trump Show” follows the events of the final few months of the Trump presidency and the implications it could have for the Republican Party’s future, according to a summary provided by its publisher, Dutton.

Dutton says Karl’s new book centers on the “story of Trump’s downfall, complete with riveting behind-the-scenes accounts of some of the darkest days in the history of the American presidency,” adding it will feature new sources who are sharing their accounts on-the-record for the first time.

The book is scheduled to be released Nov. 16.

Axios first reported the book release.

Karl’s “Front Row at the Trump Show” from 2020 focuses on “behind-the-scenes moments that define Trump’s presidency” before and after he was elected to office.

Multiple best-sellers about the Trump presidency have been released both during and after his time in office, including Michael Wolff’s “Fire and Fury,” Philip Rucker’s and Carol Leonnig’s “I Alone Can Fix It” and Michael Bender’s “Frankly, We Did Win This Election.”

Trump has remained critical of much of the coverage about him and his administration, saying in a statement earlier this month: “It seems to me that meeting with authors of the ridiculous number of books being written about my very successful Administration, or me, is a total waste of time. They write whatever they want to write anyway without sources, fact-checking, or asking whether or not an event is true or false. Frankly, so many stories are made-up, or pure fiction.”
