Jazz trade Derrick Favors, first-round pick to Thunder for second-round pick
The Utah Jazz have traded Derrick Favors and a future first-round pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for a future second-round selection, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Favors' departure gives the Jazz some much-needed financial flexibility ahead of the 2021-22 season. For the Thunder, it's another first-round pick hoarded by general manager Sam Presti.
Favors came off the bench for Utah in 68 games last season, averaging 5.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and one block while shooting 63.8% from the field.
The 30-year-old has spent 10 seasons with the Jazz after being selected third overall by the New Jersey Nets in 2010. He has also played for the New Orleans Pelicans.
Favors has two years remaining on the three-year, $27-million deal he signed with Utah in November 2020.
