    Hospital Honor Roll: Three Montgomery County Hospitals Are Among Best in Region

    Three Montgomery County hospitals have been ranked among the twenty best hospitals in the Philadelphia region by U.S. News & World Report, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

    The hospitals were ranked based on their performance in complex care for medical specialties and in common procedures and conditions.

    Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood ranked third in the region and tenth in Pennsylvania. The hospital was among the highest performing in two adult specialties – Cardiology & Heart Surgery and Urology – and 14 procedures and conditions.

    Next is Jefferson Health-Abington Hospital ranking in seventh place in the region and No. 13 in Pennsylvania. It received a high performance in one adult specialty – Diabetes & Endocrinology – along with ten procedures and conditions.

    Finally, Bryn Mawr Hospital tied with Chester County Hospital and Paoli Hospital in eighth place. It also came at No. 14 in Pennsylvania. The hospital recorded high performance in Orthopedics along with nine procedures and conditions.

    The highest-ranked hospital in the region is the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania-Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, which also ranked in first place for Pennsylvania and No. 13 nationwide.
