The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the man charged in the death of a 19 year-old from Lumpkin County: 20 year-old Daniel Roberts is from Dawsonville. He is facing counts that include aggravated assault and battery. Kaleb Duckworth was killed in a fight in the parking lot of a restaurant in Dawson County.

A 19-year-old has died days after he was involved in a violent fight at a north Georgia Applebee’s restaurant.

Kaleb Duckworth, 19, of Dahlonega was taken to a hospital for “severe head trauma.” After fighting in the intensive care unit for several days, Duckworth died on Tuesday.

The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies were called to the Applebee’s off Ga. 400 in Dawsonville Sunday night in reports to a fight.

“Kaleb Thomas Duckworth went home to be with Jesus on 7/27/2021,” the family wrote.

GoFundMe has been set up to help pay for medical expenses and other fees.

His mother wrote in a public Facebook post that Duckworth was an organ donor and that he will be saving five people’s lives.

The Dawson County Sheriff’s office charged 20-year-old Daniel Lee Roberts with aggravated assault.
