    By Anthony Payero

(QUEENS, N.Y.) The New York City Police Department rescued 25 dogs who were living in poor conditions at a home in Queens, according to ABC 7 NY.

Police located the pit bulls at a home on 95th Avenue in the Jamaica section of the borough on Wednesday.

The dogs were found without food or access to clean water. They were also reportedly kept in poorly ventilated, filthy and unsanitary conditions.

Andrew Cato, 59, is facing multiple charges of animal neglect as a result.

Officials did not say why or how Cato came into possession of 25 dogs.

The ASPCA worked with the NYPD to complete the rescue, according to ABC 7.
