Family: Woman in critical condition but stable after house explosion in Moniteau County

JAMESTOWN, Mo. (KMIZ)

Less than 24 hours after an explosion in Moniteau county the cause of the explosion is still unknown. The Missouri State Fire marshals office continues to investigate the cause of the explosion Thursday afternoon.

Family members were on the explosion site Thursday morning going through the debris.

Family members at the scene told ABC 17 News crews it was the grandmother that was critically injured in the house explosion near Jamestown. The family said she was badly injured with burns all over her body, and said she is currently in stable condition in the ICU at University Hospital.

Family members said they transported the women to the end of the 16000 block of Harris Road where she was flown to university hospital.

(((Moniteau County Sheriff Tony Wheatley said the woman was flown to a hospital after the explosion.)))

The Jamestown Rural Fire Protection District responded to a report of an explosion around 6 p.m. Wednesday. The house is considered a total loss.

No one was available at the fire district Thursday morning.
