Florida man in coma after asking neighbors to turn music down

In a disturbing story out of Florida, a Hollywood man is in a coma after he was brutally beaten by his neighbors -- because he asked them to lower the volume of the music they were listening to.

Doctors at Memorial Regional Hospital have placed Hollywood resident Frank Penkava, 42, in a medically-induced coma in hopes that he’ll stabilize so they can perform a life-saving operation on him, his mother Joan says.

“We don’t know what damage has been done mentally, let alone all of the physical issues he has,” she says. “My son has a little boy. He is going to be 4 years old. He is beautiful and he may never know his dad.”

“There is no reason for what they did to him,” she says. “I understand that people get into altercations all the time and people’s emotions are high, especially over the last year, but there was nothing to warrant what they did to him.”

Penkava’s sister, Gina Horvath, says the beatdown -- which occurred back on June 14th -- was so severe, she only recognized her brother by his tattoos.
