NORTH COLLEGE HILL, Ohio — A man wanted by Ohio police on charges of stalking, aggravated burglary and domestic violence appears to be taunting authorities on social media.
Harry K. McDowell, 34, is wanted by North College Hill police, WXIX reported. In a Facebook post, the police department displayed a photo of McDowell and asked that anyone to call who had information about him, the television station reported
A Facebook post of a man believed to be McDowell holding his wanted poster was posted shortly after the police post, WXIX reported.
According to police, McDowell is accused of breaking into the home of the mother of his child on two different occasions. During those break-ins, McDowell allegedly damaged the woman’s property and assaulted her, police said.
According to police, McDowell called the station on Tuesday to tell authorities he was not going to turn himself in, the television station reported.
It is not the first time a person wanted by the police has used social media to taunt police.
Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones said he had a suspect posting pictures and sending him texts, WXIX reported.
“He was taking pictures where he’s at and ‘You’ll never catch me.’” Jones told the television station. “He would call in and send texts, and ‘Haha,’ and ‘Hehe’ and I would send him a text back.”
Jones said he was able to get the last laugh when his department caught the man, WXIX reported. He added that he believes the North College Hill police will be equally successful.
