16-Year-Old Boy Arrested And Charged In Shooting Death Of His Uncle

ST. PETERSBURG, FL. – A 16-year-old boy has turned himself in to police after investigators found him to be responsible for the shooting death of his uncle Anthony Link, 37.

Carlos McNair, 16, was arrested and charged with Second-Degree Murder.

According to police, on July 20, a call came in just before midnight in regards to a crashed white Mercedes in the 1500 block of 26th Street.

Police responded and found Anthony Link, 37, deceased inside his car. 

Earlier in the night, both Link and McNair were at a family gathering in 2500 block of 16th Ave. S. 

Shortly after an altercation Link left the gathering, got in his car, and was leaving when McNair opened fire.

Link managed to leave the scene of the shooting but, crashed a short distance away.  Investigators established probable cause to charge McNair with Second-Degree murder. 

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
