SPRINGFIELD — A Springfield man was forced to the ground at gunpoint and tied up with Duct tape before a robber stole his car, which was later found crashed in Huber Heights, according to a Springfield Police report.
Officers responded to the 1500 block of West Perrin Avenue around 7:45 p.m. after getting a report of the robbery.

The robber asked the victim where his car keys were and also grabbed the victim’s wallet, but wasn’t able to find any money inside it. Instead, police said the suspect took a bag of quarters, an iPhone, an LG phone, Nintendo Switch and Amazon Kindle Fire before driving off in the victim’s Chevrolet Trax, according to the report.
“(The victim) stated he heard the storm door open, then an unknown male put a handgun to his head,” a report read.
Police were able to track the SUV using OnStar and Huber Heights police tried to stop the driver on Old Troy Pike, but the driver sped off at speeds of over 100 mph on the wrong-side of the road, the report said.

Huber Heights Police said they terminated the chase in the area of Old Troy Pike and Fishburg Road, but later found the vehicle crashed out near the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge in the 4200 block of Powell Road. The driver was gone before police arrived.
The robber was described as a black male, approximately 20 to 30 years old, wearing a black and grey sweat shirt, black pants and a blue mask, a police report read.
