Grant Gilbert Premieres New “I Don’t Wanna Be That Guy” Music Video

Grant Gilbert people… write down the name.

The Santo, Texas, native has been making a name for himself in the Texas country scene ever since the release of his debut EP, Loud & Clear, in 2019.

He has continued the momentum this year with the release of Trouble Like Us, a follow up EP featuring the popular single “I Don’t Wanna Be That Guy.”

And from the second he heard it, he knew he had to record it:

“The first time I heard the demo of this song I fell in love with it. It just felt like it’s something we would play every night, and we decided to cut it last second when we were in the studio.

The band and producer did a great job bringing it to life and I’m really proud of it and everyone involved.”

Written by Brad Clawson, Troy Cartwright and Phil Barton, “I Don’t Wanna Be That Guy” is for every guy that wants to get it right for a change.

“I Don’t Wanna Be That Guy’ is a song about being the good guy for once. It’s about meeting a girl and keeping promises and not letting her down. I love this song because it is everything a girl deserves in someone.

This song is an anthem for people who are tired of being let down in a relationship or have been given false hope. It’s for those who know what they want to give and know what they deserve.”

The new music video, premiering exclusively here at Whiskey Riff, was filmed near Nashville, Tennessee.

“We shot the music video in a really cool studio in the country just outside of Lebanon, Tennessee. We were looking for a spot and tried a couple of different things.

But when we walked in the dim lighting and the studio was just the feel we were going for. I think Emma [Kate Golden] and the whole crew did a great job on it.”
