Arsenal make Lautaro Martinez transfer inquiry as the Premier League club plot ambitious move for Inter Milan star
ARSENAL are interested in signing Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez, according to reports.
It's believed the Premier League side have made an inquiry for the 23-year-old, who helped Inter win Serie A last term.
According to The Telegraph, the Gunners have reached out to Martinez's Italian employers to see if they are willing to sell one of their star players.
The Argentina international was crucial to Inter's success during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring 17 goals in 38 Serie A appearances.
Martinez has formed a prolific partnership with Romelu Lukaku, helping the ex-Manchester United striker score 47 Serie A goals since his move from Old Trafford two years ago.
It seems extremely unlikely Inter will let Martinez leave, especially after another key player, Achraf Hakimi, was sold to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month.
The forward joined Inter from Argentinian side Racing in July 2018 and has two years remaining on his existing deal.
GUNNER REBUILD?
Arsenal technical director Edu and manager Mikel Arteta are reportedly looking to bring fresh talent to the Emirates this summer.
The Gunners are thought to be after Sheffield United and England goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale in a £25million move.
They're also close to completing a deal for Ramsdale's international team-mate and Brighton defender Ben White.
And the North London club have been linked with another Brighton player, highly-rated midfielder Yves Bissouma.

Arsenal are also believed to be keen on selling a few players, with Atletico Madrid reportedly plotting a £15m move for Alexandre Lacazette, whose spot Martinez would likely fill.
Midfielder Granit Xhaka, meanwhile, has been linked with Jose Mourinho's Roma, although the Italian giants are yet to agree a fee with the Gunners.
But one player that seems certain to be heading for the exit is goalkeeper Alex Runarsson, reportedly on the verge of joining Turkish side Altay.
