On Saturday night, 26-year-old Christian J Stanzione, a resident of Post Falls, died and two others suffered injuries in a two-car accident on State Route 290.
According to the reports, Stanzione drove over the center line of SR-290 and crashed into another car driven by two teenagers near Ellen Road. On arrival, emergency crews rushed Stanzione to Sacred Heart Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Both of the occupants in the second car received injuries and were transported to Sacred Heart as well. As of now, it is unknown if drugs and alcohol played a factor in the fatal crash.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
