1 injured in a two-vehicle collision involving a Pierce Transit bus (Tacoma, WA)

On Monday evening, one person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle accident involving a Pierce Transit bus and a pickup truck.

According to the reports, the bus crashed into someone’s yard. Firefighters immediately responded to the crash scene in the area of South 37th Street and South Thompson Avenue. Officials stated that four people were examined by emergency crews on the scene and one person was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

It is unknown at this time if the person taken to the hospital was on the bus or in the truck. Tacoma Police Department mentioned that responders are still working to determine the cause that led to the accident. It seems that the bus veered to avoid striking the pickup truck, authorities added.

An investigation into the crash is continuing.
