Delray Beach Resident William Nobrega Arrested At Boca Raton Flanigan’s Over $53 Check.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Delray Beach man who in May refused to pay a $117 check at Casa D’Angelo in East Boca Raton — but told people was worth $27M — is again in the Palm Beach County Jail.
This time, William Nobrega is accused of refusing to pay a $53.28 check at Flanigan’s at 80 South Federal Highway in East Boca Raton.
The responding police officer wrote this narrative in his report:
“On 07/26/21 at approximately 0100 hours, I responded to Flanigans located at 80 S. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL in reference to a male refusing to pay his bill. I met with the restaurant manager, William Riding, who advised me that the male later identified as William Nobrega ate / drank $ 53.28 worth of food and liquor. William refused to pay the bill for approximately 45 minutes, at which time Riding called police. I then made contact with with William and afforded him the opportunity to pay. William initially stated he would pay by credit cards, however William did not have a wallet with him, nor did he have any credit cards.
Officers talked with William and afforded him the opportunity to pay, however William made no attempts to provide payment during that time, including failing to contact friends or relatives to assist in payment. It was clear and evident that William was stalling to not pay the bill. It should also be noted that in the past several months, William has obtained food at two other restaurants in the downtown Boca Raton area and refused to pay.
On 05/12/21 at Casa D’Angelo Ristorante (case # 2021-005705), on 5/11/21 at Runa’s Peruvian Cuisine (case # 2021-005658) and on 5/10/21 at Vespri Sicilani ( case # 2021-005605). William was arrested for failure to pay during the incident on 12/05/21, and was released from Palm Beach County Jail on 07/21/21.
Based on my investigation, I determined that William intentionally and knowingly obtained food with the intent to defraud Flanigans. William was placed under arrest pursuant to F.S.S 509.151 (1) (which is fraud/swindle – defraud operator of food or lodging establishment of less than $1000).”
Nobrega was booked into the Palm Beach County at 3:51 Monday morning. He remained in jail as of 6:15 Tuesday morning. Read our original reporting on Nobrega’s previous arrest here.
