DeKalb County house catches fire after being struck by lightning

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A DeKalb County family is safe after their home was struck by lightning and caught fire.

DeKalb County Fire Rescue says storms were rolling through the south portion of DeKalb County at 8:40 p.m. when they were called to a house fire on Corners Circle. Investigators say the fire was caused by lightning.

Firefighters were quickly able to put out the blaze, keeping it controlled to just one room in the house.

Fire crews arrived to the house to find smoke coming from the roof and flames on the corner of the two-story home.

No injuries were reported in connection with the fire.
