A father-of-four off-duty cop has been killed in a freak accident while while watching his son play soccer when scaffolding fell on him.
Andy Jones, 37, was at Mitchelton Football Club in Brisbane's north on Sunday when the structured collapsed and crushed him.
His wife Rhianne mourned him as her best friend and father to their 'four beautiful kids' who died supporting one of them doing what he loved.
'We are absolutely devastated. He just went to watch his son play soccer and didn't come home,' she wrote in an emotional Facebook tribute.

Other tributes online remembered Mr Jones as ''n amazing man and dad'.
'Rest in peace you incredible man. You will be so missed,' one wrote, as another added: 'Absolutely devastated for the loss of this great man.'
Paramedics rushed to the field about 12.30pm and rushed him to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with critical head and chest injuries.

Football Queensland said soccer at the club's Teralba Park were cancelled for the rest of the day to allow for investigations to be carried out.
'Football Queensland will be providing counselling and support services to the family of the individual involved, club members including players and coaches, referees and volunteers, and those who witnessed the incident,' it said.
Mitchelton Football Club on Monday morning told members they would be kept informed of developments while they work with Football Queensland and police.
'The club has made a decision to suspend all football related activities until July 28. Training will not proceed on either Monday or Tuesday.
'We ask that everyone respect the decision and also the privacy of players, coaches, friends and family impacted by the incident,' the football club said.
Police conducted an investigation into Mr Jones' death and urged anyone with footage or information to contact them.
The forensic crash unit will prepare a report for the coroner.
