Forgotten Man City defender Pedro Porro jokes Pep Guardiola ‘does not know club signed me’ after two loan transfers

MANCHESTER CITY defender Pedro Porro has joked Pep Guardiala has no idea who he is as he commented on his future.

The 21-year-old, who joined the Citizens for around £10million from Girona in 2019, is yet to make his debut for the Premier League giants.

He was instantly shipped off on loan to LaLiga outfit Real Valladolid, before joining Portuguese side Sporting on a two-year loan deal last year.

And he starred in his first campaign at the Estadio Jose Alvalade as he helped Ruben Amorim's men win the Primeira Liga and Taca de Liga.

Capable of playing at right-back or as a right midfielder, Porro featured in 37 games in all competitions, with his fine form seeing him make his international debut for Spain in March.

Porro, one of a number of forgotten players on the books at Prem clubs, has declared that Guardiola has never spoken to him since his arrival.

Laughing, he told A Bola: "No, I never spoke to Pep Guardiola.

"I don't think he even knows they hired me. But they must be attentive to what I have been doing."

And he has hinted that his loan spell at Sporting could soon turn into a permanent stay, with the club having the option to sign him for £7.2m.

The Portuguese news outlet has claimed that Porro is close to agreeing terms on a deal until 2025.

Commenting on his future, Porro remarked: "I can't say anything.

"What I can tell you is that next [this] week there could be something big.

"Now I can't talk about it much. Next week, I'll see what I'll do."

City will be hoping Sporting take up their option to buy clause a year early as they look to bring Harry Kane and Jack Grealish to the Etihad.
