A 38-year-old man was fatally shot in the head early Sunday while sitting in a friend’s Honda parked across the street from a Bronx church, cops said.

Anthony Rios was in the passenger’s seat of the white Honda when a gunman approached on E. 164th St. near Boston Road about 2:25 a.m. and fired into the vehicle, police said. Rios was struck in the head.

“This hurts so much because he was one of the good ones,” said Manny Montanez, 68, the victim’s uncle. “He did not deserve this.”

Police investigate the scene of the fatal shooting on E. 164th St. near Boston Road.

Rios’ friend, who was sitting in the driver’s seat but not struck, drove the Honda to Lincoln Hospital, where Rios was pronounced dead.

The gunman ran off and has not been caught.

Rios, a father of one, had always been a whiz at electronics and was working six 12-hour days a week as an elevator repairman, his uncle said.

“It was not targeted to Anthony,” Montanez said. “We need answers and somebody knows.”

Rios lived about a mile from where he was shot.
