BALTIMORE (WBFF) - A suspected drunk driver from Baltimore crashed his car into a Brooklyn Park home early this morning, killing a 68-year-old resident inside.
Gerald Patrick Keogh, Jr., died after he was trapped between the damaged interior walls of his Walton Avenue home and the 2011 Nissan Altima that crashed into the rancher, according to a press release from Anne Arundel County police.
The accident happened at about 3:06 a.m., when 49-year-old Park Heights resident Christopher Davis was driving south on Johnson Street near Walton Avenue.
His Nissan failed to stop at a stop sign, jumped a curb, and completely drove into a house on Walton Avenue, said police.
Davis allegedly fled from the scene afterward; he was not injured in the crash.
Two adults and two dogs were home at the time. Gerald Keogh, Jr., died at Shock Trauma after being extricated by a special technical rescue unit.
The driver showed signs of drug/alcohol impairment, and was tested for both.
He is charged with vehicular manslaughter, vehicular homicide while impaired by drugs, driving while impaired by drugs or alcohol, and failing to remain at the scene of a crash that resulted on death.
