AC Milan are reportedly pushing to sign Chelsea's Hakim Ziyech on loan, with the Moroccan wanting to know if he figures in Thomas Tuchel's plans moving forward.

Ziyech, 28, moved to Stamford Bridge last summer from Ajax for £38m, with the winger part of a glut of mega-money signings under former Blues boss Frank Lampard

However, injuries kept the Moroccan sidelined for a handful of games under Lampard and the 28-year-old was unable to nail down a consistent starting berth under new boss Tuchel in the latter half of the season.

And according to Calciomercato, AC Milan are pushing to sign Ziyech on loan this season with an option to buy, should his temporary stay in Italy prove a success.

The Italians view Ziyech as a financially viable option, with other attacking targets such as Isco and Philippe Coutinho proving too costly both in terms of transfer fee and wages.

Moreover, Milan are confident they can get a deal done given their strong track record of working with Chelsea. The Italians have already signed Olivier Giroud and Fikayo Tomori from the Premier League side this summer.

All that remains is whether Tuchel views Ziyech as part of his Chelsea plans. The 28-year-old, the report adds, wants to determine where he stands before making a decision on his future.

Ziyech scored six goals and provided four assists for the Blues across 39 appearances last season.

The winger earned his reputation as one of Europe's top attackers during his time at Ajax, where he contributed 49 goals and 81 assists from 165 games.

Milan finished second behind arch rivals Inter in Serie A last season, with boss Stefano Pioli and sporting director Paolo Maldini looking to add experience to their young side.

Portuguese attacker Rafael Leao has been linked with an exit from the San Siro, with Premier League clubs Wolves and Everton keeping tabs on the youngster.
