3 discovered dead inside Long Island home; baby found alive
Authorities say one man and two women were found shot inside. A baby was found inside the home unharmed.

FARMINGVILLE, Long Island (WABC) -- Homicide detectives are investigating after three people were found dead inside a Suffolk County home.

Police made the gruesome discovery Friday around noon inside an apartment on Overlook Drive in Farmingville.

Authorities say Richard Castano, 31, Diamond Schick, 24, and Nyasia Knox, 20, were found shot inside. Castano and Shick were both residents of the house. Knox was from Georgia.

A baby, younger than 1 year old, was found inside the home unharmed. Two dogs were also discovered unharmed inside the home.

Emotional family members and friends of the victims gathered outside the home, many of them screaming and crying.

Investigators said a family member of one of the victims called police suspecting the victims may be dead inside.

"The baby was found in a room," said Suffolk County Police Det. Lt. Kevin Beyrer. "The door was closed."

A woman who had a child with the male victim identified the victim as Castano, The woman did not want to be identified, but said her 7-year-old son no longer has a father.

Jacqueline Wiggins said she knew two of the victims and they were engaged and had a child together.

"They were very good young people," she said.

Neighbors tell Eyewitness News that complaints have been made to the police about criminal activity happening outside of the home.

Investigators don't yet know when the victims were killed or why they were killed.

The deaths in Farmingville end a deadly week in Suffolk County. Seven people were murdered in the county since last Saturday - six people were shot and killed and a woman was stabbed to death.
