Blink-182 singer Mark Hoppus says he got 'the best possible news' in stage four cancer battle following chemotherapy

Mark Hoppus gave fans an upbeat update on his cancer battle following chemotherapy.

The Blink-182 singer, 49, took to Twitter on Monday with an update amid his ongoing battle with stage four diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, indicating things were moving in the right direction.

'Scans indicate that the chemo is working!' Hoppus said. 'I still have months of treatment ahead, but it's the best possible news.'

Hoppus said he was experiencing a whirlwind of emotions following the chemo treatment.

'I'm so grateful and confused and also sick from last week's chemo,' he said. 'But the poison the doctors pump into me and the kind thoughts and wishes of people around me are destroying this cancer.'

The All the Small Things artist vowed he was 'just gonna keep fighting' in his health battle.

Hoppus, who is father to son Jack Hoppus, 18, with wife Skye Everly, 48, also tweeted the phrase Chemotherapy Gary, a play on the phrase Dysentery Gary, a track from the band's hit 1999 album Enema of the State.

The What's My Age Again? artist last week said on social media that the cancer was linked to his blood. He wrote, 'My blood's trying to kill me... it's entered four different parts of my body.'

Hoppus, who was diagnosed with cancer this past April, spoke about his health battle in a Twitch stream in which he detailed what he is dealing with.

'My classification is diffuse large B-cell lymphoma stage four-A, which means, as I understand it, it's entered four different parts of my body,' he said. 'I don't know how exactly they determine the four-part of it, but it's entered enough parts of my body that I'm stage four, which I think is the highest that it goes. So, I'm stage four-A.'

The resilient artist vowed to fans, 'We’re beating this cancer - it’s just a matter of time.'

He initially publicly revealed his health battle in a June 23 tweet, saying, 'It sucks and I'm scared, and at the same time I'm blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this.'
