Emilia Clarke confirms she’s joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe with ‘Secret Invasion’ role
Official dispatches from the Marvel Cinematic Universe are far and few between, always calculated and never divulged too soon, so if this wasn’t supposed to be public knowledge yet, they’ll have to take it up with the Mother of Dragons.
“I’m pretty sure we can say it’s called Secret Invasion,” Emilia Clarke said on Wednesday’s (July 21) The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, referencing her role in the upcoming Disney Plus series. “But I’m already scared. The first people I spoke to for Marvel were their security team, and I am convinced there’s a man outside my house. There’s been a car parked there for a long time. And I swear to God, he’s undercover.”
“Secret Invasion is a newly announced series heading to Disney+ that stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull Talos—characters who first met in Captain Marvel,” according to Disney’s official website. “The crossover comic event series showcases a faction of shape-shifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years.”
Clarke, 34, was first reportedly linked to the project by Variety in late April.
The Game of Thrones icon additionally used her time with Fallon to discuss her new comic book M.O.M.: Mother of Madness and recite Olivia Rodrigo’s smash single “good 4 u” in various worldly accents. Watch it all below.
