Caitlyn Jenner pledges to support Trump if he makes another bid for the White House

Caitlyn Jenner, California gubernatorial candidate and former Olympian, expressed her continued support for former President Donald Trump while appearing on Fox News on Saturday.

Jenner told “Justice with Judge Jeanine” host Jeanine Pirro that if Trump decided to run for office in 2024 and if she proved victorious in the gubernatorial race, “obviously I would support him.”

The Republican doubled-down on her support of Trump, adding that her backing of the former president is not contingent on her victory.

“Yes, I still would support him,” Jenner said of if she lost the race. “I do not like what’s happening in this country right now.”

As to whether or not Trump should launch another White House bid, Jenner said, “That’s his decision.”

Jenner is currently vying for a chance to upset current California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) in a recall election. She announced her candidacy against Newsom in April, joining an already-packed candidate field.

“Gavin Newsom is only interested in himself, he’s only interested in keeping his position,” Jenner told Pirro, according to Newsweek. “He’s not interested in the people.”

The outlet notes that Jenner is running for governor in a state that has long been Democratic, with now-President Biden snagging 63.48 percent of the vote in California in the 2020 presidential election. Trump, meanwhile, won 34.32 percent of the vote.
