Arturo Vidal ‘in talks to terminate £105k-a-week Inter Milan contract’ after Antonio Conte exit
INTER MILAN are in talks to terminate Arturo Vidal's contract in their latest cost-cutting measure, according to reports.
The Chilean veteran, 34, helped lead the Italian giants to their first Serie A crown in 11 years.
But with Inter Milan desperate to cut costs amid their financial crisis, club chiefs are considering terminating Vidal's deal, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich star currently earns £105,000 a week at the San Siro.
Getting rid of Vidal would shave a whopping £5.5million off their annual wage bill.
He only has one year to run on his current deal.
The 124-cap Chile star only joined Inter last summer with Antonio Conte keen to bring in a leader to the midfield.
And Conte reaped the rewards as Vidal made 23 Serie A appearances en route to the title.
But Conte spectacularly quit after guiding Inter to the Scudetto following a huge row with the club's president Steven Zhang over the direction of the club.
The former Chelsea chief was swiftly replaced by former Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi.

And Inzaghi - as well as Zhang and Co - are seemingly keen to axe Vidal in order to better invest the money elsewhere as they aim to retain their title.
However, they will lose a massive amount of title-winning know-how should the Chilean be axed.
Vidal has won an incredible NINE Big Five league titles - four at Juventus, three at Bayern Munich and one apiece at Barcelona and Inter.
