As with any child, Prince George will be looking forward to his birthday gifts, but there's on gift in particular that Prince William won't be looking forward to.

There's an annual tradition in the royal household that was inspired by Prince George's late grandmother Princess Diana.

The annual event has been running since little George was a baby - and every year Prince William dreads it.

George's godmother, Julia Samuel, 60, was a close friend of his grandmother Diana.

Every year for his birthday she buys an "impossible" toy for the children and it takes William days on end to assemble it.

Julia said: "I do to George what [Diana] did to us, which is give impossible toys that are really noisy and take a lot of making.

"William then has to spend days putting together. And then put all the machinery together, and it makes awful tooting noises and lights flashing and all of that."

Julia explained that the fun tradition entertains "cheeky" George and makes them both laugh.
