M&T Bank to offer Multicultural Small Business Innovation Lab in Bridgeport
M&T Bank has announced plans to launch its Multicultural Small Business Innovation Lab in Bridgeport. According to the bank, this seven-week program will accept as many as 50 entrepreneurs seeking to expand their business skills and connections. M&T will be partnering with the University of Bridgeport Innovation Center and the program will cover topics including creating a business plan, credit fundamentals, marketing, legal entity formation and pitch tips. The program will conclude with a pitch competition, awarding grants of up to $6,000 funded by M&T.
Nuvance Health becomes a Cleveland Clinic affiliate
Nuvance Health Heart and Vascular Institute has become an affiliate of Cleveland Clinic’s Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute. The Ohio-based Cleveland Clinic will share clinical best practices for patient care with the clinicians and multidisciplinary teams at three Nuvance Health’s Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, Danbury Hospital and Norwalk Hospital.

CareMount Dental opens Yorktown Heights office
ProHEALTH Dental hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the grand opening of CareMount Dental’s third Westchester office, located at 331 Downing Drive in Yorktown Heights. ProHEALTH Dental’s expansion is part of its clinical affiliation with CareMount Medical, a multispecialty medical group serving the Hudson Valley and New York City. This is one of ProHEALTH Dental’s six major clinical affiliations, which serve over 3.5 million patients throughout the New York and New Jersey area. Through this clinical affiliation model, ProHEALTH Dental currently operates 15 offices, with more in development.
Coworking company Daybase to open first Westchester site
Daybase, a hybrid work company, will open its first Westchester location at 326 Halstead Ave. in Harrison on July 25. The New York City-headquartered Daybase was founded in 2020 with the goal of developing a national network of neighborhood coworking spots, with its first location opening last February in Hoboken, New Jersey. The Harrison location encompasses 4,981 square feet of street-level retail space in a new AvalonBay Communities development adjacent to the Harrison Metro-North train station.
New law in Westchester to help ensure abortion access
Westchester County took quick action last night to put into effect a new law that is designed to help ensure safe access to reproductive health care facilities. The measure, which had been under consideration by the Board of Legislators even before the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision overturning Roe v. Wade, passed yesterday by a 15-2 vote.
