Warning in Winder: candy is laced with drugs

GBI is investigating

There is a warning from the Sheriff’s Office in Winder: investigators in the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office say they are finding candies laced with liquid narcotics. The GBI is investigating.

From the Barrow Co Sheriff’s Office Facebook page...

The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office would like to make the public aware of a popular children’s candy known as “PEZ” that is being laced with liquid narcotics. The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit is currently investigating the information and have acquired some of the suspected tablets. The photos attached are of the suspected items which are being sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations Crime Lab for testing.

**There are no indications the “PEZ” are being distributed to children. We firmly believe this is an attempt to disguise the illegal substance to fool law enforcement officers so the users can avoid incarceration.
