Report: Bulls interested in Kyle Lowry, Lonzo Ball, other PGs this offseason

The Chicago Bulls need an upgrade at point guard, and the franchise reportedly plans on being a big spender at the position this offseason.

According to Matt Moore of The Action Network, the Bulls are being linked to Kyle Lowry, Dennis Schroder, Lonzo Ball and Spencer Dinwiddie.

Moore says Lowry is "the toughest get" out of the four players. The Toronto Raptors veteran is expected to have several suitors this offseason, including the Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat and New Orleans Pelicans.

Schroder, meanwhile, is seeking a deal worth between $100 million and $120 million. It's unclear if the Bulls would be willing to give him that large of a deal. However, Schroder did have some of the best seasons of his career playing for Bulls coach Billy Donovan in Oklahoma City from 2018-20.

Chicago has been heavily linked to Ball over the last several months. During the season, the New Orleans Pelicans and Bulls even held trade discussions leading up to the deadline that never materialized into anything serious. Still, Chicago's interest remains, and the Bulls have enough cap space to make a deal happen. The California native's market could potentially be in the range of $20 million per year.

Dinwiddie is coming off a partially torn ACL that sidelined him for most of the 2020-21 season. However, he's still looking for a significant contract after declining his $12.3 million player option with the Brooklyn Nets.

Any of these players would be an upgrade for the Bulls. Coby White could miss the start of the 2021-22 season after shoulder surgery, and Tomas Satoransky is better coming off the bench.

The Bulls have not made the playoffs since the 2016-17 season and are hoping a significant acquisition this offseason can help push them over the hump.
