The Pittsburgh Pirates reinstated outfielder Gregory Polanco from the 10-day injured list prior to Saturday’s home game against the New York Mets.

The 29-year-old Polanco was put on the IL with an adductor strain on July 6.

Polanco has struggled this season, batting just .199 with nine home runs and 23 RBIs in 70 games.

The Pirates optioned infielder Rodolfo Castro to Double-A Altoona in a corresponding move.

The 22-year-old Castro went 3-for-11 with three homers and four RBIs in five games since being recalled to replace Polanco on the roster. He also was 0-for-3 with the Pirates earlier this season.
