And SunSport can reveal that he will be unable to join the squad until Sunday after delaying his return from the Caribbean, resulting in him being forced to self-isolate.

Meanwhile Spurs are strengthening in other areas after having a bid for centre-back Cristian Romero accepted by Atalanta.

And Chelsea have turned their attention to Romelu Lukaku with a bid of £86m plus Marcos Alonso after missing out on Erling Haaland.

With Jack Grealish on the verge of a move to Manchester City it could be a busy day of action.

GREAL BOOST

According to the Mail Online Jack Grealish will join Manchester City TODAY.

And while the signing will not initially please United fans it could be a deal that helps them.

City are also said to be interested in Harry Kane who wants out of Tottenham.

But with £100million set to be spent on Grealish a move for Kane as well looks unlikely.

That leaves the Red Devils free to try and tie up a deal for the England skipper, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer eager to add a striker to his ranks.

And with  Andreas Pereira, Diogo Dalot, Axel Tuanzebe, Brandon Williams, Dan James and Phil Jones set to be moved on there may be the right funds available for United to ready a bid.

DEAL NEARLY DONE

Jack Grealish will sign for Manchester City TODAY, according to the Mail Online.

The report states the 25-year-old is due in Manchester today after returning from an extended summer break this week following England's Euro 2020 campaign.

The fee is expected to be a British transfer record of around £100million, as City look to claim the Champions League title that has so far eluded them.

Grealish had returned to Villa training on Monday and Tuesday, bit now a deal with the Manchester club is set to be wrapped up today.

MIKKEL BATTLE

Four Premier League clubs are interested in signing Sampdoria star Mikkel Damsgaard, THOMAS BLOW reports.

The 21-year-old shot to fame at Euro 2020, scoring a memorable free-kick for Denmark in their semi-final defeat to England.

According to Sportmediaset, English sides Liverpool, Tottenham, Leeds and Aston Villa are all keen on signing Damsgaard.

It's thought Sampdoria will accept an offer of €35million, around £30m, for the Danish winger.

Rumours suggest the Italian giants are willing to cash in on Damsgaard after his stellar summer and enhance their transfer budget.

PLAYER-PLUS CASH

The Gunners have reportedly offered Leicester a lump sum plus Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Reiss Nelson in exchange for James Maddison.

That's according to a report from Football Insider, but the report also states the Foxes are not interested by either of the players offered by the Gunners.

They value their man at £70million and would prefer a cash deal rather than player exchange.

Mikel Arteta is desperate to add some creativity in midfield as the Gunners seek a long-term replacement for Mesut Ozil, and with Maddison being linked with the North London club for a number of months this one looks set to roll on.

HOPING FOR HOPPE

The Gunners are said to be interested in Schalke striker Matthew Hoppe.

According to 90min, ELEVEN clubs are battling for his signature, including Tottenham and Everton.

Arsenal are keen to add another striker this summer and have been linked with a move for Lautaro Martinez and Tammy Abraham.

But Hoppe may be available for just £10million, and with Schalke being relegated from the Bundesliga last season the German club are in desperate need of cash.

Hoppe would represent a low risk signing for the Gunners, but the American is a very bright prospect.

DONE DEAL

Aston Villa have completed the signing of Bayer Leverkusen forward Leon Bailey for a reported £30million.

The 23-year-old Jamaica international joins the club on a four year deal and becomes Villa's third summer signing after Emi Buendia and Ashley Young.

Dean Smith is building a very competitive team in the West Midlands.

Speaking on the signing, Smith says: "Leon is a hugely exciting young striker with great pace and creativity.

"He has enjoyed a successful career at Leverkusen and we are now looking forward to watching him show his skills and talents for Aston Villa in the Premier League."

ROM RETURN

Chelsea have reportedly offered striker Romelu Lukaku £250,000 a week in wages as they prepare to bid £100million for the Inter Milan man, DYLAN TERRY reports.

The Blues have already seen an £86m offer for the 28-year-old Belgian rejected by the Serie A champions.

But they are keen to secure his signature before the start of the new season and are prepared to break the bank to do so.

According to The Express, the Champions League winners are willing to offer Lukaku £12.8m per year in wages, more than he earned at Manchester United.

And that could well be enough to convince him to return to the Premier League as SunSport reported on Tuesday he feels he has unfinished business at Stamford Bridge.

TUAN LATEST

Aston Villa are reportedly interested in a permanent move for Axel Tuanzebe.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a loan move to both Newcastle and Villa, but a £5million loan fee has curbed that interest.

But now according to the Telegraph, Villa are instead interested in a permanent deal for Tuanzebe.

He’s slipped even further down the pecking order at United following Raphael Varane’s arrival at Old Trafford, with Harry Maguire, Varane, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly all preferred to Tuanzebe.

A move seems inevitable, but will it be on loan or a permanent one?

SISSOKO SEND OFF

Tottenham are looking to offload Moussa Sissoko this summer to boost their transfer kitty, WILLIAM PUGH reports.

The North Londoners are keen to get rid of the £80,000-a-week midfielder - who will reportedly return to training this week.

Sissoko, a £30million buy from Newcastle in 2016, has failed to hit the heights expected of him since his move from the Magpies.

The Frenchman has two years left on his contract and has attracted interest from Fenerbahce in the past.

That interest appears to have cooled but the North Londoners are still looking to move him on, according to the Athletic.

GOOD MORNING FOOTBALL FANS

Tottenham star Harry Kane failed to turn up to training for a second day in a row. Will it be a third today?

Kane is reportedly attempting to force a move away from north London this summer and has informed Spurs of his intentions, with Manchester City interested.

Manchester United and Chelsea have also been previously linked with the star striker.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the England international has bunked off work in an attempt to leave the club.

The Three Lions captain did not report back for training on Monday either, with the north Londoners reportedly fining the player.

The 28-year-old appears to have gone AWOL due to chairman Daniel Levy not honouring an alleged 'gentleman's agreement' allowing him to leave

Meanwhile, Tottenham have agreed a fee for Atalanta star Cristian Romero.

That is according to Football London, who claim Spurs are very close to landing Romero.

Of course, the north Londoners still need to finalise some smaller details regarding the structure of the deal.

Atalanta also need to confirm the loan signing of Medhi Demiral from Juventus.

Finally, Chelsea have had an £85million bid, which included Marcos Alonso, for Romelu Lukaku rejected by Inter Milan, according to Sky Sports.

The Blues are in the market for a new centre-forward this summer after Timo Werner's disappointing debut campaign at Stamford Bridge.

And former Chelsea player Lukaku is the man they want, with Thomas Tuchel's side also linked with Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland.

The star striker spent three years in west London between 2011 and 2014 but made just 15 appearances before moving on to Everton.

But Chelsea are keen to bring the Belgium international back and are likely to return with a better offer

LUK AT THAT

Chelsea are preparing to make a fresh approach for former striker Romelu Lukaku.

According to reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Blues are set to offer between 120-130million euros for the forward.

Inter previously turned down an offer worth 100m euros plus Marcos Alonso.

Chelsea are offering the former Man Utd striker a huge contract to tempt him to move back to the Premier League.

MART RAID

Everton forward Kevin Campbell has urged his former team to try and move for Manchester United forward Anthony Martial.

Martial has found himself somewhat out of favour at Old Trafford, and hasn’t really lived up to his big money move from Monaco.

Campbell told Goodison News: “There could be a loan worked out. You don’t always have to pay all of the wages, although United would like them to pay as much as they can.

“Martial playing regular football is an asset, they paid around £60million for him, so he needs to play football.

“When he fancies it, he’s hard to stop – he’s electric.”

NEVILLE ON KANE

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has weighed in on the Harry Kane-Tottenham situation.

He told Sky Sports News: "If Harry Kane was meant to report to pre-season training with Tottenham on Monday, then he should've come back. You can never advocate any player not turning up for training - it's as simple as that.

"You've got to turn up and you've got to do your job. However, I've worked with Harry and I can't think of a more professional footballer that I've ever seen.

"He does everything right, so he must be seriously annoyed. Something has happened badly that has made him do that.

"It still doesn't excuse it for me. He should still have come into training, and you respect your team-mates. You still have to go and stand with them and sit in the dressing-room, but it's clear now that there's a collision course.

"They were on collision course already at the end of last season when Harry clearly felt something was happening and he's taken Daniel Levy on.

"Not many do it, and not many come out the other side, but it'll be interesting to see which clubs are involved.

"It looks like Manchester City, and they've clearly made a bid that's not enough for Spurs.

"Harry thinks it is enough while Daniel doesn't think it is. Hopefully they can come to a compromise but whether they do remains to be seen."

SCOT A HART

Former England international goalkeeper Joe Hart has left Tottenham and joined Celtic, writes JOSHUA MBU

The experienced keeper, 34, leaves Tottenham after spending just one year at the club, making ten appearances last season.

Hart played the majority of his games for Spurs in the Europa League and the FA Cup, keeping five clean sheets in the process.

In a three paragraph statement, the club wished Hart well on his new adventure in Scotland, as Celtic look to regain the SPFL title.

It reads: "We have reached agreement with Celtic for the transfer of Joe Hart.

"The experienced goalkeeper, 34, joined us in August last year and made 10 appearances last season, eight in the Europa League and two in the FA Cup, keeping five clean sheets.

"We wish Joe all the best for the future."

Hart is believed to have signed a deal worth £15,000-a-week.

KIER PATH

Manchester United have received a huge boost in their pursuit of Kieran Trippier, writes WILLIAM PUGH

That is because Atletico Madrid have reportedly lined up Roma's Alessandro Florenzi as a replacement for the England hero.

The England full-back has been linked with the Red Devils for weeks, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen on the former Spurs player.

And the 30-year-old is said to be desperate to move to Old Trafford.

However, with two years remaining on his contract, Atletico are digging their heels in on the fee.

They are reportedly holding out for his £34million release clause to be triggered.

But they are still making plans for Trippier's departure, according to Spanish outlet AS.

VAR CHANGE

Premier League officials have announced changes to VAR (Video Assistant Refereeing) that could eradicate any ‘trivial’ decisions.

The system has attracted immense criticism in the last two seasons due to the offside and handball rules offering a lack of clarity to players and fans.

But that will change going forward as officials look to ‘dial back’ the use of VAR.

Officials are hoping this decision will reclaim some of the sport’s spirit before technology was introduced to the game.

TAKE THE KNEE

Premier League players from all 20 clubs will continue to take a knee during the upcoming season to highlight the fight against racism.

Players and staff have been kneeling prior to kick-off since June 2020 to show their support for the movement for racial equality.

The decision is "wholeheartedly supported" by the Premier League.

The players said in a statement: "We feel now, more than ever, it is important for us to continue to take the knee as a symbol of our unity against all forms of racism.

"We remain resolutely committed to our singular objective of eradicating racial prejudice wherever it exists, to bring about a global society of inclusion, respect and equal opportunities for all"

MAKING ROM

Tottenham have agreed a fee for Atalanta star Cristian Romero.

That is according to Football London, who claim Spurs are very close to landing Romero.

Of course, the north Londoners still need to finalise some smaller details regarding the structure of the deal.

Atalanta also need to confirm the loan signing of Medhi Demiral from Juventus

BIDDING WAR

Tottenham are set to rival Arsenal for Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez.

According to L’Interista, Spurs are considering Lautaro as striker Harry Kane is pushing for a move away.

Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Inter have set their asking price at €80million (£68.2m) for the Argentina international.

The Gunners are interested in the 23-year-old’s signature, with some reports claiming the club would be willing to offer a player-plus-cash offer to land him.

But the Italian champions are only keen on a straight cash deal this summer

TRANSFER LISTED

Arsenal are set to sell six players during the summer transfer window.

That is according to the Daily Express, who report that Hector Bellerin, Eddie Nketiah, Willian, Sead Kolasinac, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Reiss Nelson could leave this month.

The Gunners are looking to add to their squad before the transfer window slams shut.

But the north Londoners’ boss Mikel Arteta will need to sell first in order to raise funds

TOP 10

Manchester United are hoping to sell 10 players to fund moves for Atletico Madrid star Kieran Trippier and Rennes ace Eduardo Camavinga.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to assemble a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title after back-to-back top-four finishes.

According to ESPN, the Red Devils are looking to recoup £100million, with Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial, Phil Jones and Diogo Dalot up for sale.

Andreas Pereira, Daniel James, Alex Telles, Axel Tuanzebe and Brandon Williams are also believed to have been deemed as surplus to requirements.

And the Manchester giants are also said to be prepared to cash in on Paul Pogba, who has just a year left to run on his contract

VARANE UPDATE

A visa issue may be preventing Raphael Varane from playing in the 2021/22 Premier League opener against bitter rivals Leeds United.

According to the Daily Telegraph, United signed Varane on an initial £34million deal that could rise to £42m, but the transfer is being held up.

The France international needs to get a Visa through following Brexit in order to be allowed into the country, meaning a medical has not yet been completed and he is yet to put pen to paper on a contract.

However there are not thought to be any major issues, it’s just a matter of waiting for the paperwork to come through so the deal can finally get over the line

OD MAN OUT

Real Madrid are looking to include a buy-back clause in any agreement to sell Arsenal target Martin Odegaard

That is according to ABC, who claim that Real boss Carlo Ancelotti has told Odegaard that he is part of his plans but is not guaranteed a regular role.

That is because Ancelotti looks set to continue with Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Casemiro in his midfield.

This has resulted in the attacking midfielder pondering a potential return to the Gunners.

However, Los Blancos are demanding £42.5million as well as a buy-back clause, something that may put the north Londoners off
