Sixers guard Tyrese Maxey putting in work in the gym, drills 3-pointers

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

One shining light in an otherwise tough postseason for the Philadelphia 76ers, other than the play of Joel Embiid, was the performance of rookie Tyrese Maxey, who was not afraid of the big moments and who showed up when it mattered most.

Maxey had 16 points and seven rebounds on the road in the Sixers’ Game 6 win over the Atlanta Hawks which helped force Game 7 in Philadelphia. He continued to show he has what it takes to succeed at the NBA level, and that comes with his work ethic and desire to get better.

After a solid first season, Maxey has been back in the gym putting in work on his 3-point shot. Everybody knows he can get to the basket. Now he needs to add a reliable jumper to produce a more complete offensive game.

Maxey continued to show off more of his offensive game as the season went on and with his work ethic, he is going to make an even bigger impact in his second season.
