Dolphins partner with FARE to provide allergy-free concessions

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

Going out to the ballgame can be a pretty tough chore for anyone with food allergies — concession stands aren’t exactly known for their ability to compartmentalize foods and avoid cross contamination that could provide quite the scare for anyone with severe reactions to certain foods. The Miami Dolphins are looking to change that in 2021 — announcing that they are the first sports venue to offer an allergy-friendly concession kitchen alongside their new partners, ‘FARE’ (Food Allergy Research & Education).

The objective of the kitchen is to provide safe food choices that are free of the eight most common allergens — and the Dolphins are the first sports team to pursue a FARECheck partnership.

Parties for both the Dolphins/Hard Rock Stadium and FARE offered statements upon the announcement of the partnership.

“We spent a great deal of time evaluating the in-stadium experience for the 2021 season and working with FARE will help service our fans and raise awareness on food allergies. We are excited to work with FARE on this first of its kind partnership to build a comprehensive plan for events, staff education and community impact.” — ” Jeremy Walls, Senior Vice President, Chief Revenue Officer of Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium

“Going out with your family and friends to take in a game is fun and relaxing, especially when you are confident that you will have access to allergy-friendly food options when you need them. FARE’s partnership with the Dolphins in providing a FARECheck-certified kitchen will help millions of people make food choices that work for them.” — Lisa Gable, Chief Executive Officer of FARE.

The Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium plan to implement four “grab and go” stations but also provide a concession space on the 100, 200 and 300 levels of the stadium.
