DUST-UP

Dustin Poirier called out by Nate Diaz days after second Conor McGregor win as UFC fan favourite tells him to ‘pull up’

NATE DIAZ has once again called out Dustin Poirier - challenging the former interim lightweight champion to a middleweight showdown.

Fan favourite Diaz first called out The Diamond a few days after seeing him knock out his old rival Conor McGregor at UFC 257.

And six days removed from Poirier's second successive victory over The Notorious, Diaz has sent another callout the Louisianan's way.

Alongside a picture of himself facing off with Poirier, Diaz tweeted: "185lbs. Pull-up."

Poirier was quick to respond to the Stockton slugger, saying: "I'd touch you up at any weight."

Not one to let a rival have the last word, Diaz then tweeted a picture of himself with the accompanying caption: "Watchu [sic] gonna do to the Unbreakable."

Diaz and Poirier, 36 and 32 respectively, were due to face one another at UFC 230 in November 2018.

Poirier, however, was forced to withdraw from the mouth-watering fight due to a hip injury.

The pair have repeatedly engaged in social media back-and-forths ever since.

During an appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast, he said: “I think before I’m done fighting, I’m going to fight 170.

“I’ll go up to 170 and fight Nate. For sure. I do because of the way it fell apart."

He added: "Me and him were supposed to fight at Madison Square Garden.

“I kind of was the fall guy - he gets to point and say I pulled out of the fight and I did.

"I went to get stem cells done on my hip.

“But I was going to fight, I was going to go through a camp and fight him if they wouldn’t have started offering me other replacement opponents.
