EastEnders legend Dean Gaffney over the moon as he becomes first-time grandad
Dean Gaffney has announced that he has become a grandfather for the first time.
The EastEnders legend, 43, took to social media to tell that his daughter Chloe, 24, has welcomed a little girl named Mimi.
The doting grandpa wrote: "Welcome to this crazy world, my beautiful granddaughter Mimi.
"I am very happy to announce I am a GRANDAD I can’t believe my baby is now a mother, proud is an understatement. Chloe and Declan you’re going to be amazing parents. X
"Baby Mimi, born: 07.07.2021.. 7 pound 14oz. Just to thank everyone in advance, I know I don’t look old enough to be a father let alone a grandfather!"
Alongside the joyful post, he uploaded a snap where he could be seen cradling the newborn tot.
Other offerings showed a close up of new arrival Mimi clad in a white and pink babygrow as she napped and a third photo was a tribute to new mum Chloe and her partner as it featured a collage of photos of Dean with his daughter and her beau.
Actor Dean, who rose to fame for playing Robbie Fowler BBC soap EastEnders, is dad to stunning twins Charlotte and Chloe Burge who often feature on his Instagram page.
Last year, he took to the photo-sharing app to celebrate Chloe and Charlotte on their 24th birthday - calling them his "baby girls".
Alongside a gorgeous video of the blonde sisters pouting for the camera, Dean insisted his life would be empty without the twins.
The proud dad penned: "Happy birthday to two of the most important people in my life.
"Simply put, I love you and we are both proud of you".
He added: "Happy Birthday baby girls".
Dean welcomed Chloe and Charlotte, who he nicknames 'Dolly', with childhood sweetheart Sarah Burge when he was 19.
After a whirlwind romance that span across almost two decades, the pair split in 2015 following cheating claims.
The star previously revealed that his two daughters can boast that they turned down Love Island after producers approached them about making an appearance.
"They've been offered Love Island," he previously told, "But they're private, which is nice."
