Who is Joe Manganiello?

Joe Manganiello was born on December 28, 1976, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Susan and Charles Manganiello.

His dad is of Italian ancestry, while his mom has Armenian, Austrian, and Croatian roots.

While attending Mt Lebanon High School, Manganiello showed an affinity for sports.

He was the captain of the football, basketball, and volleyball teams, and played at the varsity level in all three sports.

He also developed an interest in acting and filmmaking while at school, landing the role of Jud Fry in the senior year’s production of Oklahoma!

After initially being rejected by the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama in his senior year at high school, he reapplied a year later.

He was accepted, going on to graduate with a degree in acting in 2000. After graduation, Manganiello moved to Los Angeles and signed with a talent agent.

He landed the role of Eugene ‘Flash’ Thompson in the Sam Raimi-directed Spider-Man in 2002.

However, Manganiello’s big break came in 2009 when he landed the role of werewolf Alcide Herveaux in the third season of True Blood, a part he would play for five years.

The part earned him the 2011 Screen Award for Breakout Performance.

His next big role came as Big Dick Richie in Magic Mike, which was a box office hit, and he reprised the role in the sequel Magic Mike XXL.

Manganiello has also continued to pursue his love of film making shot David Ayer's Sabotage with his childhood idol, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

In 2017, Manganiello won an Emmy Award as the narrator of the documentary on his hometown's hockey team called Pittsburgh is Home: The Story of the Penguins.

When did Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello get married?

Manganiello and Sofia Vergara met in 2014 with the couple dating for six months before getting engaged on Christmas Day that year.

They got married in Palm Beach, Florida, on November 21, 2015, and purchased a $26 million Los Angeles mansion.

The pair celebrated their fifth anniversary in November 2021, and Manganiello told People his "instincts about (Vergara) were right.”

“I knew pretty quickly that I could trust her, and she knew pretty quickly that she could trust me,” Manganiello said.

“And we’re both the kind of people who are capable of putting the other person ahead of ourselves.

"I was capable of putting her wishes ahead of mine, whatever they were, and she was capable of doing the same. Once you have that, you don't let go of it.”

However, on July 17, 2023, it was reported the two were calling it quits after seven years of marriage.

The couple told Page Six: "We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives."

A source close to the former couple added: "Sofía and Joe have been growing apart for a while now and are taking some distance from each other to contemplate their future."

As of February 2024, the two have finalized their divorce and have since moved on.

On February 18, Manganiello went Instagram official with his new girlfriend, Caitlin O'Connor.

Rumors of their relationship have been circulating since September 2023, and the two made their red carpet debut as a couple later that year in December.

While they made their debut at the end of the 2023 year, the two never addressed their relationship via social media until February 18.

Manganiello shared an Instagram post with a picture of the two buried between his photo dump.

The Magic Mike celeb wrote a caption ending it with: "And celebrated Valentine's Day with Tool & Caitlin."

In addition to Manganiello moving on, Vergara has, too, as she's been seen with her boo Justin Saliman.

The two have been linked since October 2023 and Vergara went Instagram official with her orthopedic surgeon boyfriend in December 2023.

Do Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello have children?

While Vergara and Manganiello do not currently have any children, the Columbian actress had one son, Manolo, with her first husband, Joe Gonzalez.

They were married in 1991 but got divorced two years later.

In a January 2024 interview with Spanish newspaper El País, Vergara revealed that she and Manganiello were not on the same page about children in their future.

"My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids and I didn’t want to be an old mom," Vergara explained.

"I feel it’s not fair to the baby. I respect whoever does it, but that’s not for me anymore."

She continued: "I’m almost in menopause; it’s the natural way of things. When my son becomes a dad, let him bring the baby to me for a while and then I’ll give it back to him and go on with my life; that’s what I have to do."
