Toronto Blue Jays left-hander Steven Matz cleared COVID-19 protocol and rejoined the team, manager Charlie Montoyo told reporters Thursday.

Matz, 30, was placed on the COVID-related injured list on June 13 and required to isolate for 10 days in accordance with Major League Baseball’s policy.

Matz, who threw approximately 60 pitches in live batting practice on Thursday, owns a 7-3 record with a 4.26 ERA in 13 starts this season.

The Blue Jays acquired Matz from the New York Mets in January in exchange for three right-handed pitchers: Sean Reid-Foley, Yennsy Diaz and Josh Winckowski.

Matz has a 38-44 record and a 4.34 ERA in 125 career games (120 starts).
